Every woman has a different experience, but on the whole, you want to wait until you are done breast feeding and your breasts return to their normal size.
Sometimes a woman's breasts don't return to their previous size, and then you need to judge as to when they get to what we call a steady state, or a size and shape that is not going to change further.
You would not be too happy if you had your breast augmentation while your breasts were still getting smaller, and when things finally did get to a steady state, you found you were not the size or shape you wanted to be!
In order for you and your plastic surgeon to make the proper plans and decisions about what type of operation you will want, as well as what size implants you will need, your breasts need to be a stable size and shape.
For rough plans, I would recommend at least 3 months following cessation of breast feeding.
