The key to a successful breast lift is the quality of the skin. The final result will only be as good as the remaining elasticity of your existing skin. The plastic surgeon cannot alter the quality of the material that you bring to the operating room table. That being said, it is important to have a thorough examination and discussion of the operation and expected results prior to surgery. If your breasts were as large as a DD and you were happy with the size of your breast in a bra or bathing suit then it is possible that the breast lift was the proper indicated procedure. It is possible during a breast lift to reposition the existing breast tissue to a higher location creating some improvement in upper pole fullness. If you have thinned skin with a lot of stretch marks it is possible that initially you had a nice shape but the breast bottomed out over the past year. This is not uncommon. It is possible that a revision of your original breast lift is indicated and it is also possible that an implant, of sufficient base diameter is needed to give you your desired upper pole fullness. It sound like you need to express your concerns and I am sure that most plastic surgeons would be willing to help you get your desired result.
