Weight loss prior to tummy tuck and brazilian butt lift

Jack Gelman, MD answers: Brazilian Butt Lift and Tummy Tuck advice

I am looking to get a Brazilian Butt Lift and a Tummy Tuck. Is it better to lose as much weight or fat for my tummy tuck, than to not lose weight and save up the fat for a Brazilian Butt Lift? Please give me some advice.

I recommend that patients be at a stable weight. If you starve yourself prior to surgery, you risk gaining the weight back and being unhappy with the result.  You don't want to be in a starvation state at the time of surgery, since that may interfere with wound healing.
