Smoking Will Age You Quickly

Mark Berkowitz, MD answers: Botox for crow's feet and smoker's lines?

I am 31 years old and sadly smoked for about 13 years. During the last year or two I have started to see more and more of the crow's feet and "smoker's line" around my eyes going down to my cheekbone, especially when I smile. Will Botox typically correct all of these lines?

I am happy that you have made the smart choice to stop smoking.

I have a 1,2,3, 4 approach:

  1. Botox to treat the dynamic (moving) muscle underneath the skin of the eyelid.
  2. Laser skin resurfacing to build up collagen and tighten the surround skin.
  3. Filler may occasionally be necessary in the transition zone between your lower lid and cheek.
  4. Some patients may also benefit from skin tightening through procedures like Thermage

Not everyone needs all 3 parts of this puzzle to repair their problem.  Follow up with your physician and they chould be able to help you.

If you mention this blog you will save $100 per syringe of any filler through May 31, 2009.
