Botox Before Brow Lift, but no Botox to Forehead

Kevin Ende, MD answers: Is 20 years old too young for endoscopic brow lift?

I am 20 years old and have inherited droopy eyebrows. I think an endoscopic procedure could improve my appearance. Am I too young to undergo this type of procedure?

Although an endoscopic brow lift is an excellent procedure for brow ptosis of most causes, most patients choose to try Botox or Reloxin prior to undergoing a surgical procedure. Age should not factor into the decision process. I would not recommend Botox in your forhead as one of the other respondents to this question suggested.  Forehead Botox will lead to additional brow ptosis.

More important than the age is the actual anatomical problem and resultant cosmetic deformity.  Many reconstructive procedures are done on young patients, including children and adolescents for congenital facial deformities.  There is no reason why a simple problem of eyebrow ptosis or drooping couldn't be corrected at age 20.  Be sure to inquire about the credentials of your surgeon who should be board certified in plastic or facial plastic surgery.  Ask about the number of endoscopic cases that he/she has done and review pictures of patients who have had the procedure.
