Is Blotchy Skin a Sign of Vitiligo?

Hello, I'm 21 year old African American. It wasn't until my sister aked why my skin was so blotchy. I have light spots a shade or two lighter than my normal complexion on the side of my face.

Its and irregular shape, on the other sides of my face is just light blotches. Up into this point I have had perfect skin free of acne, and an even complexion. Lately I have been under a lot of stress with a poor diet. Could this be vitiligo?

Causes of blotchy skin

It is possible but unlikely that what you are describing is vitiligo.  I would suggest that you visit a dermatologist who can examine your skin and give you a proper diagnosis.

Blotchy white spots - ? cause

There can be several causes for irregular patches of "hypopigmentation" on the cheeks, and in someone who does not have acne, my first suspicion is mild eczema, where the skin is dry and irritated and looses some pigment. Over the counter 1% hydrocortisone cream appied several times a day will clear it up in a week or so if that is the case, and will not be harmful.
