Liposuction alone (whether it be SmartLipo, VASER, or PAL) is usually not adequate alone to treat true gynecomastia (meaning there is some glandular breast tissue). This tissue is too dense to be treated with any form of liposuction - I perform a fair amount of this type of surgery, and in 90% of case, I have to directly excise the tissue. Yes the lipo helps contouring and debulking some of the chest, but it's best done in conjunction with excision. I have performed VASER, UAL, PAL, traditional lipo on these cases, and still glandular tissue removal is needed.
