Dr. Steinsapir is absolutely correct. Most of the products which claim to be better than Botox are simply moisturizers which in clinical studies have not proven to be better than Botox.
Unfortunately because these products do not have to get US FDA approval for their claims, they can claim whatever they want without having to show well controlled scientific studies to back up their claims.
If you are looking for an alternative to Botox to help decrease fine lines and wrinkles, moisturizers are the key. When the skin is moist, it will have a full appearance and will help to hide the fine lines. When dry, it will shrivel like a prune and the lines will appear.
As always, it is crucial to wear sunscreen. Several things happen when the skin is exposed to sun on the cellular level which not only contributes to skin cancer formation but also to the aged appearance of the skin.
