90 with Gapping Front Teeth?

mother in law is 90 she has 5 front upper teeth left, 2 of the crowns came off, has no stub of teeth left, she 1 tooth on right side left, 2 on the left side of space what should we do to fix this , she had tried a partial before and had problems with it.

WIth just a few teeth left, it makes comfortable chewing a challenge. A few teeth can support a partial denture, though I've found (like your Mother-in-law) has that only about 10% of people can tolerate them. The rest try to wear them for about 12 months and then just throw it into a drawer. If there are as many teeth problems as you have described, then it's time for a full denture. Healthy Decisions

This is an unfortunate side-effect of aging for many seniors. Poor home care, medications and health considerations all contribute. In this case I must agree with Dr. Timmerman that a full denture or implant supported restoration would be benficial and getting rid of those broken (and probably infected) teeth would improve her overall health. Find an experienced dental team to help you make the right decision. Good Luck!

Time to consider a full denture

With so few teeth left, a complete denture should be considered. Implants can help as well. Implants can help stabilize a denture or support it completely. Find a prosthodontist to help.
