Streaking can be temporary after fractional carbon dioxide laser

pink to red streaks can persist for many weeks after resurfacing with CO2 laser resurfacing and other modalities including Portrait plasma resurfacing. These generally spontaneously resolve but sunscreen and moisturizer is very important. If there is any firmness or substance to the skin of these areas compared to normal skin, then the streaks must be monitored and possibly even treated prophylactically to prevent raised or hypertrophic scarring which can rarely occur.
