Will 400cc Breast Implants Get Me from an A Cup to a Small D Cup?
I am 5'4 100lbs with a 32 in band, left breast 10.2, right 10.4 and I want high profile silicone under the muscle implants. I am currently an A and want to go to a small D--is 400 cc a good place to start sizing?

The prediction of bra cup size based on the volume of silicone gel implant not an exact science
There are many tables and formulas that are used to determine the anticipated change in cup size for a given sized implant. Unfortunately there are so many variables that these tools only provide rough guidelines and estimates.
Dr. Placik’s recommendation of the “rice test,” is excellent because it is something you can do in the privacy of your own home. It allows you to thoroughly evaluate different volumes and bras without feeling rushed. Dr. Edwards’s technique...

What size implant to get?
Clear communication with your plastic surgeon is important in achieving the desired goals of the patient. I like to communicate with patients with “goal” pictures. During surgery, I use temporary sizers to determine the size/profile that will give the patient the look she is looking for. Trying to predict the size of the implant preoperatively is not ideal. I think it is too much responsibility for the patient to choose the size of the implant. Ideally,...

In some bras you will be a D cup
There is absolutely no conformity amoung bra manufacturers so we, as plastic surgeons, rarely can promise a given cup or bra size. From your measurements, as long as your tissues can tolerate it, it sounds as though you will get a good augmentation from that volume of an implant. Ask your plastic surgeon to allow you to size with the implant to be used in a sports bra. This is how I determine which implant I will use in a surgery and it is the rare patient who is unhappy with their bra...

Use sizers and D cup bra to estimating breast size after augmentation
This is a difficult question and the ultimate cup size is influenced by several different factors including the bra manufacturers.
On average each cup increase can range from 150 to 200cc. Using this very crude formula, 400 cc would take you up 2-2.6 cup sizes. However, this is a very rough estimate.
Your best bet is to try a sizer using the rice test or zip lock bag filled with 400cc and then try on a D-cup bra of your choice. It is far from exact but it will give you a better idea....
