Is $2,700 a Suspicious Price for Inner Thigh Lipo?

I checked online and he is board certified, but he is by far the cheapest plastic surgeon I've been too. He does not have any before and after pictures on his website. I am only 5'4" and weigh 120, so I'm not a big girl. I am afraid that I will spend the $2,700 and he will not be a very good surgeon and he will make me look bad or I will not be able to even tell a difference.

$2700 is aweful low for inner thigh liposuction.

Prices vary a lot but you get what you pay for in  liposuctions.  The operating room fee is usually $1000-1500, the anesthesiologist's fee is $1500, and the surgeon's fee runs about $3000-4000 if getting it done under general.  If the area is small and only needed to be done under local anesthesia, then $4000 is appropriate.  Sincerely, David Hansen,MD

The fee for the surgery depends on many factors and that should not be the deciding factor

Please check the board certification and make sure your  surgeon is board certified plastic surgeon. The fee is in the low side but you are small and the amount of the fat can change the fee.

Check for Board Certification in Plastic Surgery

Go to the website of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery: surgery.org Look under "Find A Surgeon". Membership in this society is by invitation only and the members of this society devote their practices to cosmetic surgical procedures. Most are also members of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and are Board Certified in Plastic Surgery. Once you've narrowed your search in this way, ask around. If your friends have had surgery, get their... more

Price and surgery

To find out if the surgeon is good at what he does, you should ask around to see if you know anyone who has had work done by that person.

Low Prices do NOT always mean Inferior Results BUT you SHOULD do your Homework

I spent three years in Durham, NC and am somewhat familiar with Plastic Surgery in that part of the country. The fees there are NOT as high as those charged in LA, or New York (even by poor non-plastic surgeons) and it is a conservative city when many surgeons prefer not to post pictures on their websites for fear of frightening patients away. If your surgeon is an active member of The American Society of Plastic Surgery, can show you pictures in the office of his patients and... more

The price may be low but he may make it up on volume.

Laura Please just do your homework.  Will someone who is doing 10 liposuctions a day, to make up for the low price, take the time you need to have the best possible result?  Often the price and the type of service does match up.  Do your homework before you go with the lowest price.

$2,700 a suspicious price for inner thigh lipo

Boy! I do not agree with the previous expert posters. As for the fee for lipo of ONLY the inner thighs on a small type body (5' 4" & 120 lbs) the fee is slightly below mine ($2800 + $500 for post op garments and lymphatic massages = $3300). The next issue is no internet photos. I have no issue with no internet photos being posted. Go see him in person. If he does not have any photos in his album - than there is an issue. I do not post ALL my photos on the net because I... more

Price for liposuction

The surgical fee may depend on geographic location, the amount of fat the surgeon expects to remove and the amount of work involved, the type of practice set-up and their experience.  Often there is an additional charge such as a facility fee for the operating room and in some cases, an anesthesiologist fee if you will be sedated. The best way to get a referral is by having your general physician recommend someone they know or friends who have had surgery with that doctor.... more

Use your gut instinct in researching plastic surgery, not the price

There is a reason why his prices are so low and there are no photos.  Your gut is telling you not to go there and you should listen.   All patients need to understand that the best surgeons can command a higher price and it is worth it for you to get it done right, once.  Revisions cost more money especially if you have to go to another doctor and the result is never as good as if it was done right in the first place.

Price of liposuction and quality.

In general, you get what you pay for, so don't shop price, shop quality. An experienced liposuction surgeon should be able to show you photos of the procedure you are interested in!!! Get another opinion.
