20% Salicylic Peel at Home?

I am 35 and suffer from acne scarring and ocasionally acne. I have done a 20% of salicylic peel, left it on for 8 minutes, but I didnt really have any visible peeling. What have I done wrong? Also, can I combine peeling and dermaroller for better or faster results? Thank you

20% salicylic acid should be used by professionals only

20% salicylic acid is potentially strong enough that it is generally only available to licensed professionals. While it may not always results in significant peeling when used, when used in the wrong setting it may cause problems. Be safe--talk to a board certified dermatologist if you want this type of procedure done. see video

Home Salicylic Acid 20% peels

Salicylic acid peels at 20%, while superficial, should really be performed in a professional medical setting. They also do not always produce intense peeling- in fact it is usually just a light flaking with some pink or mild redness. Please consult a dermatologist who can help you address your acne scars and suggest other options.

I'm not sure what peel u r using (plz let me know) but if you had no irritation plz continue to do a peel once a week for 8 mins. Don't use daily salicylic toners or products that will irritated your skin. I found with using the peels less products were better. Cleanse, use the peel once a week and always moisture. If u have a breakout spot treat with a salicylic spot treatment (don't squeeze your skin - use a glycolic cleanser, needle and extractor and steam before). I've been using the Brazilian peel 10 mins once a week since mid nov and its made a huge difference in my acne. I consulted with several drs over the past 5 yrs and all they did was write prescriptions for retinoids (which ruined my skin) & antibiotics which never helped. I give up on drs and started researching. I found may articles that indicated salicylic & glycolic peels where better than retinoids and started to research peels. I decided on the Brazilian peel because it was featured on dr oz, it was listed as best product by allure, a coworker was using it and my skin had better results with 25-30 % glycolic facials from an esthetician. You will not see a dramatic difference with one peel but with time (give it a month) you will notice less breakouts and the scars fading. Your skin will not peel and fall off like dr peels which are not covered by insurance and are very expensive (you may want to consider a dr peel to help with the scars but I would suggest using the peel you have for 1-2 months....you may end up finding your solution).
