it usually swells approx one to one and 1/2 inches during the day. if this is caused from fluid is there a remedy?

Long term swelling that comes and goes after tummy tuck

It is unusual to have swelling this long after a tummy tuck. If your tummy is flatter when you wake up (after the lymphatic fluid can drain upwards since you are lying flat) and then mild swelling appears during the day as you are up and gets gradually worse by the end of the day, this is consistent with lymphatic fluid in your tissues that are having a hard time draining down across your incision when you are upright. Swelling 17 months after Tummy Tuck?

Thank you for the question. I would agree with you that you are out somewhat out of the usual timeframe to be experiencing swelling of the soft tissues at the end of the day. This is probably related to the continued delayed lymphatic and venous drainage that occurs after the tummy tuck procedure.
