I had PRK surgery 7 days ago, I went to my second follow up appt. yesterday and the doctor took out the contact bandage, he said there was epithelium left around the eye and I was going to feel like a had dirt in my eye which I did, my eye got very watery and burning like sensation. He put the contact back on and said to leave it for two more days. I am still using the steroid drops and today they started to hurt my eye when I apply them. I feels like something is stabbing my eye.
I got my PRK in April 2018 for both eyes, and followed the treatment regime for one month only and then I stopped the steroids while I was supposed to keep using them for another month. I am regretting that now because my vision does not feel like 20/20. I cannot consult my doctor because I had my PRK done in another country. My question is whether to start the steroids drops again now (it is has been 4 months since the PRK and 3 months since I stopped the steroids drops) or is it too late?
I am planning on getting PRK done soon but want to know how necessary steroid eye drops are? I've heard from an ophthalmologist specializing in cataracts in my area that they increase a person's chances of developing cataracts earlier in life. Is it possible to avoid or minimize the use of steroid drops in my eyes after PRK?
I had a PRK surgery on 03/27/15. Previously my right eye was -9 (sph.) and -0.5 (cyl.). My left eye was -5.5 (sph.) and -0.5 (cyl.). Today (05/04/15) I had another eye test: right eye (+1.5 sph., -0.75 cyl), left eye (-1.00 sph., -0.50 cyl.). I am still taking steroids. It may take a while for my vision to stabilise, but I am wondering whether these early results indicate that something may have gone wrong. At the moment, I am happy, although vision from the right eye feels slightly weaker.
Hi I had Wavefront PRK done about 6 1/2 weeks ago. I'm still on steroid drops 2 times a day. What I'm concerned with is, I have perfect vision when I wake up in the morning, but vision gets worse and I get double vision after about 1 hour of waking. Then vision continuously gets worse ghosting throughout the day. Is this normal? Why do I have perfect vision in the morning but get bad vision? Also, I'm also an Asian. My eyelids are thick. Can the eyelids play part in making vision worse?
