My dentist sent me to a specialist who performs root canals. This dentist told me that my tooth has calcified and he cannot perform a root canal. All of my other teeth are healthy and straight. Should I consider a veneer or crown for this front, top tooth? Will it be possible to match it to my other teeth?
I am 19 and a few years back I got an infection in my tooth root and needed a root canal. This lead to the tooth becoming dead and grey. From that I have had internal bleaching done, on two separate occasions but it didn't really do the job - or was only effective for a short amount of time. I am very very self conscious about it (& an actor!) and want the problem sorted once and for all. What is my best bet since bleaching didn't work well enough - a veneer or bonding? Thanks!
I have one front tooth that is has been dead for many years (perhaps due to trauma caused by orthodontia when I was younger). It doesn't cause pain, there is no infection, and the dentist said a root canal is not necessary because the root is basically nonexistent now. But this tooth is noticeably darker than all of my other teeth, and it looks horrible. What options do I have for making this tooth match the color of my other teeth?
My number nine tooth is changing color it has a yellow tone and I was told that my tooth was either dead or dying because of a trauma. It doesn't have any cavities or decay. The dentists didn't mention anything about needing a root canal. Do I need need a root canal before I get the veneer or will I need it in the future after I get the veneer?
I had 4 porcelain crowns done 3 years ago due to an accident where my front teeth were knocked out. Now, the gums are atarting to recede and on two of the teeth, they look blue, as if the dead teeth from underneath are showing through. What can be done to fix this? Obviously having veeners done is not inexpensive so I figured they would last a very long time before any issues like this arose. Any advice would be great!
my dog's tooth hit me in the mouth and chipped the bottom of one of my front teeth and put a hairline crack in the one next to it (the other of my two front teeth). As the years went by it slowly got browner and browner. It's not super dark but it is noticeable. I have heard veneers won't work on a dead tooth as the color difference would show through them because they are translucent. Is this true and if so what would be the best way to go.I want to fix them both along with the others
Hiya, I had rute treatment last month, the dentist said that 2 front teeth were dead. So got it done and was on a weeks anti-biotics, which seemed to help for a while. The other day i tested them to see if they had gained any strength back (as they used to be wobly) so i moved them with my fingers. And they still are! point is, since then the sensitivity has came back, doesnt happen everytime i eat but sometimes when i dont eat at all. Shud i go bk to dentist? Help!!
