I'm on Day 5 from receiving PDT & Levulan (90 min) under blue light (4 minutes) on face. It was the most PAINFUL experience under the blue light! Like a million bee stings & burning all at once. I had a reaction & immediately was swollen & red. (I'm allergic to a lot of topical medicines to treat acne). I also burn & blister when in the sun. Why did I have this reaction? Will I have it again when they treat my chest area?
Hello, A week after the procedure , I have not experienced any tingling /redness/peeling during or / after the procedure. Also, and my precancerous cells feel the same ( like dry patch). Did the therapy work? Every site I have read up on, the I individual experiencing redness/peeling /tightness/ swelling . I had spf on my face prior to the procedure and used face wipes to clean, and then wiped with alcohol pad, prior to the solution being applied. I'm wondering if this did not take? Thx
A child of 1950s before SunBlock, I had many water-blister sunburns. I've confirmed AK by other Drs. Family history: skin cancers removed by freezing, laser and surgery. I had PDT 6 days ago: Face was cleaned w/ acetone, Levulan applied, 1 hr wait, then 15 mins with Blue Light. Told to wash face & apply sunblock, then left office. No reaction No pinkness No peeling. I'm depending on these treatments to help eliminate, pre-cancerous damage. Should I ask for more Levulan or light time?
9 days ago I had PDT on my lower legs. I am still not peeling, nor am I experiencing any other effects other than some red spots that are fading. The scaly areas or barnacles are not gone. So cosmetically, I see no difference. Did the treatment do anything at all? I am disappointed. My follow up with the derm PA is in one month.
