VelaShape and SmoothShapes Reviewed on Fox News

Two New York City dermatologists appeared on the Fox News to discuss VelaShape and SmoothShapes, devices which are designed to reduce the appearance of cellulite and shrink the problem areas.
Cheryl Karcher MD, practicing at Sadick Dermatology in New York, explains that cellulite is made up of vertical strands of collagen that pull the skin down. When asked if she believed VelaShape really works, she said "I think it can reduce thigh circumference, i think it can make cellulite look a little bit better temporarily."
Lori Brightman, MD from the Laser & Skin Surgery Center of New York participated in the clinical trials for VelaShape and said, "I know that it works, it's not just my personal opinion."
An audience member named Vanessa who had VelaShape on her abdomen thought it was "phenomenal!" She had VelaShape on her abdomen, and 4 treatments later she's down 2 inches. Vanessa said VelaShape treatment was "not painful, that it feels like a warm suctioning massage.
The second laser treatment reviewed was a newer technology called SmoothShapes. Dr. Karcher said, "It's a laser and light source specific for fat. So the laser melts the fat cells, the fat comes out and it's massaged away."
MRI studies after a full year after SmoothShapes treatment showed the cellulite still improving. The audience member who had treatment with SmoothShapes said "it's a miracle, it's made me feel good about myself and gone down 2 pants sizes in 8 treatments.
