Obama Lifts Botox Sales in DC and Beyond

As people ready themselves for Obama inauguration parties in Washington, DC and across the country, dermatologists are reporting a sharp increase in sales of Botox and dermal fillers.

Firearms groups are also reporting an increase in sales as gun owners brace for what they believe will be a new era of gun control in Washington.

One group has already named Obama "Gun Salesman of the Year," prompting the question, will Obama also be the top Botox salesman of the year?

In contrast to recent reports of dire financial straits in the cosmetic marketplace, an inauguration-driven plumping up of sales could be a much needed boost for doctors' offices struggling to survive in this economy.

USA Today quoted several cosmetic dermatologists regarding the trend, including Miami dermatologist Leslie Baumann, who said "we were swamped this week," and Manhattan cosmetic dermatologist Cheryl Karcher, who treated a group of girlfriends headed to DC with a series of peels, Botox, and fillers to get ready for the big event.
