Plumping Up "The New Face" of Hollywood

New York plastic surgeon Darrick Antell, MD tells the New York Daily News that "instead of tightening the neck, there is a resuspending of the muscles in the face." New York are Hollywood are buzzing about the new "plumping face lift," from the cover of New York magazine to the gossip pages of the Daily News.

A-list stars like Madonna are known to have long, rigorous workouts and strict low calorie diets, both of which can have a "hollowing out" effect on the face over time. So how do stars like Madonna boast such plump cheeks, a smooth forehead and tight jawline?

A recent cover story in New York magazine investigated the cosmetic treatments common to celebrities like Elizabeth Hurley, Madonna, Demi Moore and Michelle Pfeiffer. The similarity in the faces of these stars suggests the use of a new facial treatment, more advanced than the Joan Rivers era, which was narrowly focused on skin tightness.

Plastic surgeons say its because of the injectable facelift, which works from the inside out to rejuvenate faces. Using Botox and fillers like Juvederm, Sculptra, and Evolence, the injectable face lift is a new method that doesn't require any intrusive surgical procedures.

New York plastic surgeon Dr. David Rosenberg said, "it's not as much a pulling back of the skin as it is a muscle correction. In the cheek, I go under the fat pad and re-support it to a place where it was earlier in time to recreate a younger looking cheek. I go under the muscles along the jawline and neck, and resupport them back to a more youthful position."

Volume is the new key to youth and vitality of the face, which is what this new method champions. Although this new method comes with the price of painful injections, models, actresses, and everyday women are lining up for it.

A procedure like this is perfect for celebs, as they require a high level of discretion being under the public eye, and for professionals who can't afford even a single day off.
