ArteFill: Not For The Virgin Filler Patient

ArteFill: Not For The Virgin Filler Patient
Real Beauty News on Nov 14, 2008

Manhattan and Long Island dermatologist Dr. Neil Sadick recently told Newsday.com that he's having good results with Artefill.

ArteFill is the only FDA-approved non-resorbable dermal filler - which means its effects can last for years, which could be good or bad depending on your experience.

In the Newsday article, Sadick says ArteFill is good for "someone who is older with more significant aging ... who is tired of more traditional fillers, and wants a long-lasting effect," says Sadick. "It's not for the virgin filler patient," he warns, because it lasts so long.

He also says that "Technique is most important," because where the filler goes, it stays. And note, some people have an allergic reaction to the product, which contains collagen, so everyone who gets it must be tested first.

The skin test requires a 30 day waiting period - so if you're ready to be plumped up now, you may want to try one of the less permanent fillers like Juvederm, Evolence, or Restylane.
