Real Beauty News on May 28, 2008

According to the Hackensack Record, New Jersey plastic surgeons are reporting a noticeable increase in popularity of plastic surgery among men.

Paramus plastic surgeon Paul Parker, MD is quoted in the Hackensack Record, saying “we’re seeing an increase in the number of men who want plastic surgery.” Nearby, Dr. Barry DiBernardo of Montclair refers to his experience treating a plumber with Botox and slimming down a local salesman with liposuction and a Clifton, New Jersey medspa is promoting $500 off SmartLipo.

Men reportedly are most interested in liposuction, eyelid surgery, male breast reduction, and hair transplants. On the non-surgical menu, Botox, laser hair removal, and laser skin resurfacing are the top sellers.

The article also refers to the especially memorable Seinfeld episode in which Kramer and George’s father invent the “bro” or “manziere,” as a remedy for the condition known as gynecomastia.
