Miami Dermatologist Discusses Evolence With CBS News' Dr. Sean Kenniff

Nasolabial folds ("smile lines") are the subject of Miami dermatologist Dr. Mark Steven Nestor's recent interview with CBS News. Dr. Nestor explains to the South Florida television audience that those annoying indentations occure as we age and "lose fat around the mouth."

Dermal fillers are the simplest solution to the problem and the recently FDA-approved collagen filler Evolence has some major advantages.

According the CBS News report, longer lasting results can be had from Evolence because of its stabilization process called "cross-linking." This process makes use of the company's patented Glymatrix technology adding D-Ribose, a natural sugar, to the structure of the collagen. The other side of the mix is purified porcine collagen - yes, from a pig.

Dr. Nestor says the effects can last over a year and Evolence doesn't cause bruising like other dermal fillers often do.
