Houston Plastic Surgeon Morphs Patient Photos To Show "After" Before Surgery

Houston plastic surgeon Paul Vitenas relies heavily on his digital camera during patient consultations. His patients used to only see before and after photos of other people, but now they can see their own with the help of new 3D imaging software.

Dr. Vitenas explained to Fox News that this new 3D imaging software is especially helpful for consultation for face, cheek, and neck surgery. He shoots pictures of the patient's profile and downloads the photos into software that shows the patient what they will look like after surgery.

For breast implants, if a patient has an asymmetry, which is quite common, the morphing will show the difference in the asymmetry as the breast is enlarged.

Dr. Vitenas says "morphing is a huge advance in plastic surgery."
