Gold is regaining popularity as a beauty treatment

Real Beauty News on Jun 9, 2008

In ancient times, gold was used in healing and as a beauty treatment - and it looks as if its popularity is resurging, especially in the beauty sector.

Dr Alexandra Chambers recently spoke to the Daily Mail about her use of the Gold Thread Lift , a skin rejuvenation treatment that can be used on the face, neck, decolletage, hands, arms, legs, abdomen and even the buttocks to provide younger, firmer looking skin.

'New blood vessels appear in the area, skin becomes firmer and thicker with a better blood supply. It can be effective for up to ten years.'

London-based skin care pro Linda Carter also uses gold, in her case, for facials and acupuncture.

'My clients say they are much more comfortable during treatment,' she says. 'I also like to use them on those who are allergic to stainless steel.'
