Florida Dermatologist Introduces Evolence to West Palm Beach

West Palm Beach dermatologist Dr. Ken Beer talked with WPTV about the new filler Evolence. Evolence is a porcine-based collagen filler, rather than bovine-based, which Dr. Beer says was "the old type," and does not require a skin test.

Additional benefits of Evolence include less bruising and immediately visible results, and the cost is competitive with other fillers. According to the FDA, Evolence is designed to correct moderate to deep facial wrinkles and folds such as those around the nose and mouth (nasolabial folds), although the WPTV report stated that Evolence wasn't good for lip lines.

Dr. Beer was one of a few dermatologists nationwide who participated in the early clinical trials of Evolence. The product received FDA approval in July 2008 and is distributed by OrthoNeutrogena.
