Boynton Beach Plastic Surgeon Pleads Guilty, Takes 2 Year Sentence
A Florida plastic surgeon who once threw a T-shirt contest with free breast implants as the prize is taking a plea deal for 2 years in prison to avoid a trial.
Mark Schreiber's medical license was first suspended in 1999, and again in 2006 as he faced lawsuits and criminal charges for the deaths of two patients. Schreiber continued to see patients for follow up after his license was suspended.
He will serve 2 years in prison and now owes $15,000 fines to four women who say he botched their breast, lip, and eye surgeries.
One of the former patients told CBS 12 News that she was unhappy with the plea and that "he should be getting the maximum for all the people he hurt."
A Florida blogger and former patient of Schreiber's has written in detail about the Schreiber case.
In the Palm Beach Post, Schreiber's attorney said "He still cares about his patients. For as many people out there who don't like him, there are many, many more who thought he was a wonderful surgeon."
