Botox passing rebates onto consumers, rolls out limited time $50 to $100 back
Real Beauty News on Jul 6, 2009

Ever noticed a doctor advertise they're a Botox "platinum plus" or "diamond" provider? This distinction has nothing to do with Botox skills, and everything to do with buying and selling Botox to consumers.

Doctors achieve status with Allergan by getting points for every Botox vial they purchase. The levels range from "silver" all the way up to diamond.  Rumors are Allergan is working on a super premium category for their ultra-important practices.

Besides a framed certificate and bragging rights, high Botox volume medical practices also get benefits like doctor finder listings on the Botox Cosmetic website, media training and support, as well as a lab coats that say Botox, Botulinum Toxin Type A.

Botox rebates to the doctor

The incentive most important to medical practices are rebates. We've been told some offices can receive up to 9% rebates (annually) plus 10 to 15 "bonus" vials per quarter.  That is, they get a check back from Allergan as well as free Botox that can be then marked up to regular prices. For the wrinkle filler Juvederm the rebate checks can be even more generous. Our sources tell us the rebate can be as high as 20%, and 1 free box (2 syringes are in each Juvederm box) for every 5 purchased from Allergan.

7th Anniversary Botox rebate for consumers

With the recession it seems only fair (and wise) to pass some of these savings on to hard-pressed consumers. Allergan is now rolling out an offer for a $50 rebate direct to Botox patients. The so-called 7th Anniversary offer is good until September 30, 2009. You must have spent at least $200 on Botox and received the injection between June 30th and September 30, 2009.

The Botox rebate requires an original itemized receipt from your doctor as well as a completed rebate form (available at your doctor office) that requests:

  • Redemption code
  • Botox Cosmetic vial lot number
  • Doctor's name and signature
  • Date of treatment

To encourage a Botox 90 day routine, Allergan is offering a Botox Cosmetic double rebate. Patients receive another $50 rebate if they return for Botox within 90 days of their prior injection.  If you end up getting the Botox rebate, please share back more details.

I have a receipt for a Botox treatment of my face. The nurse told me to complete the rebate on line. I do not have a validation code. I do have the doctors signature however. How should I proceed to qualify for the $50 rebate?

I had mine done at NewSkin Laser Center in Northridge. The office registered me, prepared all of the papers with a stamp for me to mail in my botox rebate. They should do it for you.

I am very disappointed. It has been the second time I have problems in getting rebates. The first time, it was rejected because I have sent two vial lot numbers.($1,350.00) Which I did spend more than one vial This time they claim I did not send the "code". Give me a break, and stop throwing people a bone. If you do not want to give JUST DO NOT OFFER!!! How can I remember if I did not send the "code"?
