I had a neck lift along with a facelift and upper and lower blepharoplasty 19 days ago. At day 12 my surgeon told me to start massaging my neck left to right right to left. It was very painful and my neck swelled quite a lot. Now I am at 19 days and this still makes my neck swell. My doctor had me massaging the scars on my eyes at 12 days which turned out to not be such a great idea. Thus far, it feels like an even worse idea for my neck.
I'm 12 days post-op after neck lift. Behind my one ear is not bad, but the other one has ropelike scars that I can't see going away on their own. Thank goodness I grew my hair out months before the surgery. My surgeon said not to bother growing my hair out but I'm so glad I did. This scar pretty much assures me that I won't be wearing really short hair again any time soon if ever. What are my options? Can a scar like this be removed by excision?
Upon drain removal, firm, ropelike protusion presented below drain line. If I noticed swelling prior to drain removal I attributed to drain -caused swelling. PS stated this was where incision of neck ended and that massage should be done. Platysmaplasty performed. No lipo. No improvement, if anything, feels tighter on my neck. I return to PS next week. I maintain faith I am in good hands. Just soliciting similar cases to appease my nerves. Thank you!
I dont know what happened, but it looks terrible. Something has gone wrong and to me it looks even worse than before. Granted, the 2 platysma bands arent as noticeable but now theres all this uneven and wrinkled skin on my neck. What do you think went wrong with the surgery and is there any way to correct it? Do you think it will get better over time
18 days post necklift. Incision along tragus edge.Last couple days feels like tragus is pulling outward.Holding phone up to ear is odd feeling as hitting tragus.Very uncomfortable.Area in front of tragus is puffy and looks large. Will the outward pull subside and relax tragus as swelling goes down or will it pull forward more as swelling subsides? Appears incision is moving more towards face. Looks like large triangle in front of ear. Feels like getting worse rather than better.
I am a middle age white male in good health. I am 2 weeks post op from a neck lift and I had the normal bruising and swelling in my neck which subsided within a week. All except for some lumpy spots under my chin which are still visible and hard to the touch. I don't have any pain or excessive tightness but I have those unsightly lumps and I also have very noticable ridges behind my ears. Is this normal, if not what type of follow up care should I pursue?
One day after having a face/necklift, to improve upper neck banding, my results looked good with very little brusing and swelling. My neck looked smooth and nicely angled. By day two I had quite a bit of swelling in my neck (incisions under chin and behind ears). Two weeks later the swelling has resided quite a bit but under my chin is lumpy, and there is very little contour of the neck and large swollen glands. It feels very firm and lumpy where my neck should be angled. Very concerned!
