I used to go tanning in tanning beds and a large, asymmetrical mole appeared out of nowhere and grew within a short period of time. I got it checked recently by a dermatologist but she just looked at it and determined it to be non-cancerous. I don't like the way it looks and want to get it removed. If I get it removed will it also lessen the chance of skin cancer ever forming in that spot? Or does it matter if some of the mole is accidentally left over?
I just got two moles removed on my back and they are still being tested at the lab. I am getting ready to go to Virginia and I wanted to go to a tanning salon before I go. I couldn't figure out who to ask about this...
my aunt recently had skin cancer. When I was 18, Im currently 28 I use to tan in beds and go out in the sun a lot. I dont an anymore. Ive had this on my thigh for a couple of years. The red part feels slightly raised.
27 year old M. My skin tone is level 3. In College, I UV bed tanned for 5-6 mins (not 20 mins) several times to build color before summer to prevent sunburn on 1st exposure to the sun. I probably did this 30 times over the years. (once a week in the spring for a couple months). I quit when I learned that even though I reduced the session time to 5 mins, the UV doses still adds up. Should I see a derm Dr? I have 1 mole on my side/back that I have had for years. Does it look normal?
I am a 29 year old female with a caucasian mother and bi-racial father, no known history of melanoma in the family (unsure of dysplastic nevi) but a history of indoor tanning. I have brown hair and eyes and tan easily but I have freckles and about 100 moles. I had about 12 biopsies so far because my moles are tiny but very dark. Out of those biopsies 2 came back moderately dysplastic (mild arch.). Are dysplastic nevi very common? I am freaking out about my risk.
I'm a 28 year old female mother of 4. Very active and healthy. I have moles all over my body some that are raised and most that are more like freckles. I have a mole on my back shoulder blade and the skin around it doesn't not tan at all. Should I be concerned about it and what would cause that to happen?
