I had a punch excision performed on one of cheek my moles on April 6. Right after the surgery I noticed the typical appearance of dog ears on both ends of the scars. My surgeon took out the stitches today (it seems like 11 days are quite long time but I assume it's because the wound is in an area which is under a lot of tension). I would like to know how bad my case is as of today. Would I need revision or is there still hope for the raised excess skin to flatten out? Thanks a lot!
I had my mole removed by a plastic surgeon, I had advised him I was prone to keloids before the surgery because I had my appendicitis surgery two years ago and have formed keloids scars. During consult I was advised that we would do excision to remove the mole and we would probably not use dissolvable stitches Incase a keloid forms and go with the stitches which would be removed later by the surgeon himself but at during surgery he did the dissolvable stitches and now I have this scar on my face
I got a big and raised facial mole removed on 14 August this year. The doctor cut the mole out and I got the stitches removed 7 days later. I avoided sun exposure and I used Contractubex twice a day. Now nearly three months later, the scar is still very visible and very dark. I really feel embarrassed in front of people and I always try to hide it, which is impossible. My confidence really went down and I just wish that it will fade. Does it look normal and can I do something about the darkness?
I have a mole on the inside part of my toe. My dermatologist examined it and referred me to a plastic surgeon since he said a specialist surgeon would need to remove it and I would likely have stitches and be in a splint for several weeks after removal. My question is -- what does this procedure most likely entail? Will I have local anesthetics or IV sedation? How does this usually work?
I had several moles removed from my face via punch biopsy method with stitches placed. Stitches taken out after five days. I've continued to massage, use silicone scar sheets, vitamin e...etc. It's going on two months since I had procedure & I'm very unhappy with results. I let my plastic Md. know this three weeks after procedure, but he said to Continue to give it time. At this point, should I continue to wait. I hear mix reviews about waiting vs. not? Recommendations ? Thanks
I had a mole removed by excision on my neck about 2 months ago, it's still itchy and I noticed it has a black line....the one I had removed on my back doesn't have this black line. Just wondering if that's normal? A nurse removed the stitches (dr did a continuous stitch) in my neck a week after the procedure (this may sound silly) but it's not a stitch still in there is it?!
I had a mole between my toes removed. It was a benign irregular mole but per my dermotologist it had to come off. I had stitches put in. Itll be 3 weeks in 3 days and it just has not healed. I have a hole between my toes. I went in to have stitches removed 2 days ago the derm said it looked fine. Im concerned on how its going to heal with an open wound like that. I also have a slit going across and it hasnt fused shut. Will it close shut and will the hole between my toes close up as well?
