I had two moles removed off of my head in early December. One on the back of my head and one on my right sideburn. Both were benign, but the scars are still a red/purple color and the one on the back of my head which is the bigger of the two is still itchy. Is this normal?
I had a mole shaved on my face about a week ago. I have since been using hydrogen peroxide + neosporin + band aid on it but it hasn't yet formed a scab. I was wondering if I was delaying healing by using hydrogen peroxide + neosporin and if it was recommended to not use these anymore? Also, are there any recommendations for scar preventions (Vit K/Vit.A/Scar creams or gels)? Thank you.
I had several moles removed from my face via punch biopsy method with stitches placed. Stitches taken out after five days. I've continued to massage, use silicone scar sheets, vitamin e...etc. It's going on two months since I had procedure & I'm very unhappy with results. I let my plastic Md. know this three weeks after procedure, but he said to Continue to give it time. At this point, should I continue to wait. I hear mix reviews about waiting vs. not? Recommendations ? Thanks
4 months ago, 2 nevus were removed in my face. 2 months ago I began to appear in that part of the face grains, cysts, encysted hairs, etc .. Now my face has stayed that way, what can I do?
Had a large mole removed from my face via Plexr, has started to form a crust, was advised to just treat as normal. Its only been 8 hours, not sure if I should wash now or in the morning!? I'm reading conflicting info on post care for mole removal, but cant find any for Plexr, some say keep it moist, covered and not let it dry out for reducing scar. I'm concerned about scarring and want best result. Can anyone advise the best ( less scarring) after care for Plexr mole removal ? Thanks
I had my mole cauterized 24 hours ago from the centre of my chest. I am prone to keloid scarring but chose to take that risk. The dr put an antibiotic ointment on it and covered it with a small plaster. She told me to keep it on for 48 hours and then remove it to allow a scab to form. Ater doing a lot of research, every consultant and derm on this website from all over the world have stated NOT TO LET A SCAB FORM. So do I apply Vaseline and a dressing OR let it dry straight away? Help
I got a mole removed 4 days ago by shave excision then was cauterized to stop some bleeding. I have been cleaning the incision everyday with warm water and mild soap, applying Vaseline and covering it with a Tegaderm Pad. There has been a small amount of thick, light brown discharge with a slight odor. The excision is located under the breast, and is very painful with any type of movement. I wondering if it looks like it is healing properly or looks infected?
I got 4 moles on my face shaved off yesterday. My doctor told me to let it scab and dont pick at it so it will heal in a week. But I was reading peoples advice on aftercare and I heard that letting it scab will make the scar worse. Im just confused now, should I let it scab or not? Ive been cleaning my face gently with a dove beauty bar and warm water and then diluting hydrogen peroxide and cleaning off the cuts and then adding aquaphor with a bandaid on top. Am I doing this correctly? Thanks
I got a mole excised (upper lip, bet. my nose and my mouth) by a plastic surgeon. He took some stitches out on day 7 and the remaining out today (day 10). I've had steristrips on since surgery, but was told not to put Vaseline. Now he said to let it air dry and not put anything else. Reading the posts here it seems keeping the wound moist is best to minimize scarring. Can I still try Vaseline now that the stitches are out? Should I keep using steristrips? When can I start using silicone pads?
