Hello, I had gynecomastia surgery two weeks ago and long story short, the doctor decided while doing the surgery to do liposuction only, believing he could remove everything that way. I was pretty upset to learn this and he has agreed to do a revision because the gland is very obviously still there. Since I only had lipo, I'd like to do the revision at three months and I'd like to hear expert opinions on the matter. Thanks.
Hi! I had gynecomastia surgery 6yrs ago and immediately had some divots and uneven contouring. Over time, I have worked my chest out and this has become more pronounced + I have realized it won't go away on its own. I have two questions: 1. What would have caused this? 2. What can be done to correct it? Thank you!
Is there anyway to fix a crater deformity from a bad gynecomastia surgery? My nipple and area around it sinks in when I raise or flex my arm. I do not have anymore fat on my chest that can be removed to lessen the contour difference. Any advice or guidance would be extremely appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Follow-up post to provide more pictures. Surgeon may have removed too much tissue/fat from my chest creating indentations/craters, or perhaps he was too aggressive with the liposuction. The craters are more prominent when my arms are lifted but are still noticeable with my arms by my side. The crater on my left appears to be larger in size, too. Will this likely need a fat transfer/graft in the future or will time and healing fix this issue?
It appears like too much fat/tissue was removed from the chest, causing an indentation/crater. Its very noticeable on my left and slightly noticeable on the right. Possibly this was from excessive liposuction, creating an imbalance to the surrounding tissues. Crater becomes more prominent when arms are lifted but is still noticeable with my arms resting by my side. Does this look like crater deformity?
I had a Gynecomastia surgery 9 months ago. As you can see from the pictures, the results are uneven with over resection on the right side and redundant skin and some gland/scar tissue leftovers on the other side. I also feel like the areola is lower than where its supposed to be. Is this something that can be fixed with a periareolar incision approach or will fat grafting be necessary. I also hear that fat grafting doesnt have a good reputation as it doesnt work long term.
First 5 photos preop. Other photos are 6 weeks postop. I had huge areolas and was very self conscious when they become hard. The surgeon did a periareolar nipple reduction on me and removed glandular tissues. I got hematoma on both sides the first day of surgery, however, the surgeon refused to drain it and we let it heal with time. 6 weeks later, I think nothing changed woth the left side, except for smaller areola. However, the right side is worse than preop.
I had a gynecomastia revision surgery recently. After the surgery, I was told that my condition is caused by mostly scar tissue from previous surgery, and not breast tissues. Nothing much can be done. 1. Is this true? 2. Are there any ways or scans that can differentiate between scar tissues and breast tissues?
I had gynecomastia surgery in later March, which involved both excision of the tissue and liposuction around the area. The surgeon also performed lip on my flanks and belly during the same session. It's been almost a year, and there's some concavity on the left side of my chest, and the right side is uneven. Comparing the result to my chest before surgery, and I'm now preferring my old chest. Am I a good candidate for revision, and if so, what would it involve?
