I am 4 weeks post op. I wear my post op binder at night, during the day at work I wear some kind of post-partum compression garment or Spanx at the very least. My surgeon hasnt been clear as to wether or not it is supposed to look like this 4 weeks out but has told me to start Endermologie. I know its still early but my question is if this is normal at this particular stage of post op or if this is potentially permanent. If this is normal, at what point does it start to smooth out?
Im interested in liposuction, but I have IBS and low colonic motility due to gabapentin for fibromyalgia. I have a hard time wearing spanx because it causes me stomach upset and back pain at times. Im worried I wont be able to tolerate the compression garment after surgery. Is It different from spanx or would the lipo help relieve some of the pressure on my stomach? Im 56 and 180lbs. I worry that something like coolsculpting or sculpsure wouldnt give me much results. Thanks
I am 1 week post abdominal and flank liposuction and breast augmentation, and my doctor transitioned me to Spanx a day after the surgery. I bought a body suit that snaps at the crotch and has shoulder straps, as pulling up and down Spanx was painful with my BA. The seams of the body suit leave marks on my abs. Will this cause permanent marks? Should I switch to Spanx with no seams?
There a lots of references in the stories posted on Real Self about compression garments post-op. Don't really understand how a compression garment works and makes a difference. What if you didn't wear one, what happens? Are all compression garments the same quality, or are some brands better for healing--like spanx? Thank You VERY much.
I had a proper compression garment after doing lipo on my upper and lower abdomen and flanks but it started digging into my skin and making dents. It also really hurt me. So for two days I wore Spanx while waiting for another one to come in the mail. Im only a week into recovery. Did I ruin my results or put myself at risk for fibrosis? Im really nervous!
Today I removed my stitches and looking at the big mirror I noticed my right side has a bulge looks like fat (I hope not) right where the garment was creating a crease. I tried straightening the garment but it just creates creases I think the issue is my torso is too short I bought another one from another brand and still same issue it creates creases so then I remembered my spanx when I wear it it's so smooth so I went and changed into that instead, is this fine or can it damage my results?
I had lipo done on my upper/lower abs, full back and love handles. I was given the garment which I kept on, but ripped the foam off after the 3rd day. Now my stomach has unevenness. On side looks Flat, the other bulging a little and just doesnt look smooth. My surgeon said it's not the fluids that he would need to drained, but I have to wear the garment. Is this unevenness going to go away, because now I'm consistent with wearing tight garment like Spanx? Or should I put a lipo pad on? Thank you.
...a normal belly button (i.e., one you can see)? I have always had excess fat over my belly button. I call it the shelf because no matter how thin I am, when I turn sideways, I have this shelf that hangs out. It's not only lumpy but sometimes it makes me look pregnant. I am very insecure in a two piece bathing suit and I always where spanx or a compression tank when I wear tight clothes. My skin is tight and not saggy.
