I went to the doctor and she said it was lipoma but I did research and it says lipoma is soft and it there is no real discomfort. Also it said you can move it under the skin but mine hurts its hard and you can't move it. Also there is a smaller bump like 2 inches underneath. What do you think it is?
at rest or light/short effort...there is no discomfort. .when I work the hip, say going on a hike, after a 1/4-1/2 mile the hip starts to ache. in the vicinity of the mass. This affects my activities. I've had this issue for >10 yr. Finally went to the doctor and they said...oh, its cosmetic and will leave a dimple if we remove it. they didn't care about the chronic discomfort, and advise I do nothing...
I have a rather large lipoma at the base of my neck. I had it examined by a specialist to confirm it to be a lipoma. It is approximately 2 and has affected the nerves in my arms, it has recently caused constant discomfort in my neck. I do not have insurance and I am concerned about nerve damage that could result from being removed. My question is that can a lipoma be removed thru liposuction with the least evasive damage to the nerves. Thank you for any reassurance you can offer.
7 cm Lipoma removed 6 weeks ago. Located below my ribs and above hip. Felt great until about 2 weeks ago. Very uncomfortable especially when sitting. Surgeon says it is scar tissue. Basically said if it is still painful in a few months to come back.
The lipoma did not grow out but it grew into my tissue, what might be causing this. I do not have hematoma signs or blood clot signs. It feels like a sport injury like a pulled/torn muscle. The lipoma hurt to touch originally, could this be nerve damage?
I have been diagnosed with lipoma beside my umbilical which has been causing me a lot of discomfort. My doctor has adviced that the only way to get rid of it is through surgery even though i control the pain with pain killer eg panadol extra. He also said it is a day ward surgery which means i could be discharged in a couple of hours.I am just a bit apprehensive as i have never had a surgery before. Is this a major surgery and is ok to feel this way?
10 days ago, I had 2 fist sized lipomas removed from underarms. Two Jackson-Pratt drains were in place but both fell out after 3 days of recovery. Call was placed to surgeon who said to tape it up. Appointment was made and he changed the bandages and tape and sent me home. I now have pain under each arm and back area near each incision. Fluid is present but not draining from wound. Some burning and other discomfort is present as well. I'm taking Cephalexin and Vicodin. No results on biopsy.
