I had a lip lift 5 months ago and now experiencing my scar getting super thick and puffy. I don't know what to do I'm depressed. I researched about getting a steroid injection and notified my surgeon but he hasn't gave me the shot. What should I do ?
Im planning to have a lip lift, my surgeon recommends a gull wing lip lift for me because it will lift the whole top lip rather than just the central portion with the bull horn technique. I cannot find many photos of gull wing lip lift scars and unfortunately my surgeon does not have marketing consent on any theyve done to show me. Im concerned that the scar may not be worth the result. But I do think itll benefit and my facial proportions will improve.
Looking to get a lip lift, but the spot where my philtrum connects to my nose is very raised, does this make me a bad candidate? Still conflicted on getting lip lift and looking for doctor second opinions. I dislike how long my philtrum is but I am nervous about scarring because the skin at the base of my nose is very raised (see pic 3) and I haven't seen many before and afters that show a similar thing. Not sure if I would be a good or bad candidate for the procedure.
Really dissatisfied with the length of my philtrum and with how thin my top lip is compared to my bottom lip. Was wondering if a lip lift surgery would be advisable? I'm quite young (21) and very pale so I assume scarring would be a risk factor but still hopeful that it could be done with the right doctor/method.
Bullhorn lip lift with dissolvable sutures. Spoke to the doctor today, who had me send pictures via text, said this is normal healing. I just would like to know what other doctors think. I am getting very nervous, the pictures actually don't show the extent of the scar. Very bad track marks, you can literally see every stitch hole and the line. Suggestions/advice...Please
Its been almost 2 years. This was a procedure suggested by the surgeon to be more youthful and show teeth at repose. I regret it every single day. I feel the stiffness and scarring that has a burning feel to it. I want to get my more natural smile back and improve the scarring and look of nose. Nose feels pulled out and not tucked into base. I have not seeeked the opinion of another plastic surgeon and original surgeon sees nothing wrong. He said nose looks better than before.
I got my stitches removed yesterday and was told by my Doc to apply silicone gel to the scar. The leaflet says, however, that it can't be used unless at least 3 weeks have passed since the stitches removal. I applied it yesterday as advised, now I'm worried that it will worsen my scar. Also, the gel is hardly removable and even though I washed it with water and soap and used a piece of bandage soaked with disinfectant liquid it won't come off and I'm afraid it's because the wound is too fresh.
Got bullhorn lip lift done. Everything is fine except for 1. the shape of the nostril has been changed, 2. White material came off the scar leaving pinhead sized hole (now yellow fluid filled) and ant bite like pain, 3. a part of suture was left n removed on 2nd week by myself leaving slightly raised portion on the scar. Will it even out? Will the nostril outgrow the cleft like appearance? Why the antbite like pain in the pinhole sized area?
I went to the same doctor for multiple revisions, not because I'm a perfectionist, and I don't expect perfect symmetry, but because each surgical result had a problem. I wanted a lip lift, and instead I ended up with my nose being moved to one side (the columella) not once but twice, and fairly big lumpy scars on both sides of my mouth, and a very uneven look to the top of my lip. Is this fixable? How much would it cost to fix? I am so embarrassed when I go out in public now :(
