My night vision is horrible. The light beams off cars and street lights extend from the object itself into eternity and bounce off my eyeball causing a glare. I can't read well on bright phone screens or subtitles on TV. My day vision in natural light is perfect though. Before lasik,I was nearsighted with astigmatism. I had starbursts when I would wear glasses but contacts corrected it. Doctor said my eyes are healthy and rejected an enhancement. Used eye drops and contacts-did not do anything.
I had LASIK 2 weeks today. I had starbursts before, due to my astigmatism, but now 2 weeks out and Im still seeing them, but now theres a glow around the lights ... so theyre kinda worse that before, when I would wear my contacts. Vision wise, Im 20/20, but I was hoping that the starbursts and haze around lights would have gone away by now (like I was told after my day 1 post op exam). Will this continue to heal and improve over time, or is this going to be the best that its going to get ?
I had Lasik in 2001. And came out with better than 20/20. But shortly after I started getting starbursts, glare, and ghosting. I was told it would get better but never really did. I have since been back to have vision checked and right eye is a little worse than 20/30. Would new laser technology be able to correct my glare, starbursts, and ghosting? Or is it to risky to lift a flap this old? If it is would glasses help with at least the ghosting if by chance its my astigmatism coming back?
Had custom lasik Oct 1 2016. Halos and starbursts have been exactly the same since day 1. Saw another doctor He says this can be corrected with an enhancement but my original doctor says they cant do an enhancement because theres not enough residual perscription and i will end up way worse. What do i do??? The Alphagan Drops work me 80% but who wants to use them everyday for the rest of my life? Any help thanks
I am recovering from inflammation which caused blurry vision, severe dry eye, star bursts during the day on electronics, I recently finished 4 weeks of lotemax and my vision is no longer blurry, dry eye continues to improve daily but the starbursts during the day is still there. I am now 6 months post lasik and these complications started at 4 months. Are these common symptoms from dry eye and/or inflammation?
Hello, i had LASIK surgeon before 10 days and I know that it is common to have startburst and halo effects etc. My left eye is little bit blurry so my doctor said it is because of healing process, while my right eye was great. Now, my right eye has redness in it and it looks like conjunctivitis. Will this affect on my eye or it can be healed without any side effect ? I'm still using Tobradex and eye drops. Thanks.
As with many patients, I have glare and starburst at night after lasik. If after 6 months, I understand that the healing is mostly complete and that persistent symptoms after this time period requires treatment. No dry eye complaints here and pupil diminishing eye drops help very little. Because of the pupil diminishing, would enlarging the optical zone help? If currently 20/20 is wavefront prk an option to treat glare and starburst? what are the risks? becoming farsighted?
I have remained very confused and concerned on my condition. Should I consider an enhancement? Will it help in fixing the star bursting that I'm seeing? Should I consider any medication. (My Opthalmologist has recommended I use FML for a month along with Alphagan for 3 months. I doubt it will help as I tried using it for a short period with no improvements.) I've gone back to wearing glasses which completely defeats the purpose of getting lasik done in the first place.
I had Lasik 18 years ago. It left me with starbursts and halos. The optical zone was 4.5mm. The doctor now says any more surgery would make me +5 or more. I think that might be a decent tradeoff to be able to drive at night again. He won't do it and suggested I find someone else. Is it a bad idea?
I'm a 24 year old male who had custom wavefront lasik 1.5 years ago with prescription of 4.75 in both eyes (nearsighted). My night vision is still bad, I see tons of starbursting/halos. My dr gave me drops called Alphagan p to help shrink my pupils at night which helps. But recently I've noticed difficulty in focusing, especially on closer items (phone/book). Plus left eye has many floaters & feels hazy. Will I still see improvement or after 1.5 years is this what I'm going to have to deal with?
