I got Juvederm Voluma 4 days ago. I got one sringe and the doctor struggled to get the product in my left cheek. On day 3, I went back to my doctor who assessed my left cheek, she felt it was from deep skin trauma not an infection but she gave me antibiotics. Today is day 4, although my cheeks aren't as red they still feel very hot and I am applying ice to both cheeks where the needle went in. The rest of my face is fine and I am not in pain although my left cheek is still slightly swollen.
I still have some swelling especially in my upper lip and bruising but my lips are peeling excessively everyday. I've been using chap stick and Arnika cream. But decided to not use the cream now in case it's drying out. Is this normal?
Hit blood vessel during Juvederm. Should I be worried? I was told to come back in 3 weeks to finish the treatment. These photos are from 1 day post treatment. I am taking Arnica Montana , IB prof and drinking pineapple juice (100%) for Bromelain. Should I be concerned with the degree of bruising or is this normal? What should I expect? This has never occurred before and I have fillers done on over 5 different occasions. Tissue is still soft.
I have rec'd Juvederm 2x over the last 2 yrs to help w/ mild jowling. Both times I bruise extremely bad on one side. The injections have been performed by 2 different board certified plastic surgeons. I am not taking any blood thinners/aspirin prior to treatment. I ice the area immediately following along with warm compresses & arnica gel. It takes about 4-5 days b4 the dark bruising turns yellow. Is there anything else that can be done to prevent the bruising & why is it only on 1 side? thanks
I had a small scar on my upper lip on the left hand side. When injected apparently my lip swelled up RIGHT away and turned instantly purple. It doesnt hurt and I have been putting on Arnicare 4 times a day. The swelling has reduced as pictured above but I feel uglier than I did before. When she injected it to the top left lip (where the bruise/popped vessel is) it didnt hurt anymore than the rest of it/ it didnt hurt at all. I just feel so ugly right now.
Lip fillers done with Juvederm yesterday for first time by my meticulous plastic surgeon... well I'm in love with the fullness but bruised terribly!! I did ice yesterday doing arnica by mouth too.. Wondering how long this last for others?? It looks like I got in a bar fight
I have had my lips done with Juvederm twice, 0.5mL and 1.0mL by the same nurse. Everytime I bruise badly, especially on the top lip and the bruise would spread onto my upper lip. Swelling goes down on the 4th day and bruises take about 12 days to totally disappear. (see photos)I've taken arnica prior injections for 1 week and it still does not seem to make a difference. I'm not sure whether it is because the nurse that injects it was too harsh and I should find a new clinic.
Thank you for your advice!I've been icing, using arnica in tablet and topical form along with benadryl.I went back to the doctor's office and nurse said to do the same thing. She assured me the swelling will go down.I now have some chapping and bruising.I do think my upper lip is going to look a little disproportionate to my lower lip in the end.I also have what looks like a Juvederm lump/deposit but I'm hopeful that will smooth out over time.I just wanted fuller lips nothing extreme. :-p
My wedding is two weeks from my appointment date. My doctor, whom I adore and trust, says that is more than enough time to heal. However, I've never had lip injections before, and I do tend to bruise a lot in my lower face. AND I'm prone to cold sores. I've been taking arnica and Valtrex this week, but I'm getting nervous because time is at a premium. I want to look beautiful for my wedding, but I'm wondering if the risk is worth it. Is two weeks enough healing time from lip injections? I've been taking
