Antibiotics only work slightly and it comes back so I'm not sure what kind of folliculitis I have. There are no pustules and its only in areas I have shaved before. From what I've researched, I can not afford any therapy other than IPL. I'm sure the folliculitis in my scalp is bacterial so I'm not sure if that relates at all and I have dandruff but I use medicated shampoo. I have coarse dark hair and its pictured with my skin and the bumps won't go away for the treatment unfortunately.
I am going to do my first IPL section in about a month, and I haven't waxed for more than 6 months and I have been shaving all this time. My question is, am I not supposed to shave my hair during this month, or its ok to shave? Is it ok if I stop shaving only 4 to 5 days before the IPL thing?
I got my first session of IPL laser hair removal for full face and neck yesterday but there is a lot of stubble today. Is this normal? I do have PCOS so I'm assuming this is a massive contributing factor. We decided to give electrolysis a rest and try to reduce the amount of hair using laser first and do electrolysis after 6 laser sessions. Will the hair continue to grow or fall out? I don't want to shave today just in case it negates the effect of the laser.
This pic is of my calf just after shaving. I always get hairs that grow sideways just below the skin surface. And often new hairs tend to curl up under skin and cause little scars on my legs. Aside from laser hair removal is there anything i can do to help prevent sideways growing/ingrown hairs?
Will shaving skin if using a home ILP treatment make hair thicker? Im use to waxing never shaving. Recently using an electric epilator on a weekly basis. Im concerned about the effects of shaving on my skin because i develop irritation, rash and ingrown hair easily with it so i kept away for a really long time. Will shaving (For home ILP treatment) ruin my skin or body hair. And is home ILP treatment effective as going to a salon?
At the salon they shaved my upper lip before the session and now (day after treatment) im starting to feel stubble (but im super detailist and observe myself every second :D). I dont want to shave between sessions. it seems weird for me and i just dont want to do it. Is it okay? Will the hair fall out? Or will it feel like stuble for a long time? If the hair wasnt in anagen phase will it fall out too?
As a woman - my chin facial hair between ipl treatment can be shaved.. i dont see myself walking with the hairgrowth until the next session... some say wax between seetion and until the next time when the facialhair grow make your next ipl.. that makes the every 2-4 weeks session not on time... so wax or shave? thanks
