I had IPL on some freckles on my arms. Immediately after the procedure they turned darker. Now it is 4 weeks later and the freckles are still there with only a slight improvement. The freckles look like they still might have some redness in them. Is this typical? Initially it looked like the freckles might crust over but that didn't happen. Should I have another IPL treatment or try a laser instead?
I have been prescribed multiple creams for my keratosis pilaris rubra. Most recently I have been using a Retin-A cream (I believe tretinoin?) It has helped drastically with the bumps but not the redness. I have been using this religiously for 3-4 months. I also use a prescription cream with 2% salicylic acid and another with 20% urea. Both have a low dosage of hydrogen cortison in them. The KP is very bad on my arms and mild on my face (cheeks). Will another cream help with this? IPL? Pulse Dye?
I used to tan when I was a teen. Now I am 29 and my skin is sun damaged. I have a lot of moles, freckles and sun spots on my arms, chest, upper back and face. My main concern is my arms and chest. I would like to know the best treatment to remove theses moles and sunspots (laser, IPL, peeling) Also, since I would be treating a large skin area, I would like to know the cost of such a procedure. Is it safe to remove these moles and would it have an effect on my chances to get skin cancer?
I am a 48 year old woman with light skin tone and am experiencing hyperpigmentation (sun spots) on my arms as a result of past UV exposure. I would like to know what the most reliable course of action would be for long term success in addressing this issue.
I had IPL on my face, chest and forearms. The nurse said she didn't change the settings on the laser but my arms burned badly. It's been a year. Is there anything I can use to help the appearance of my arms?
Today I opted to have IPL on my arm to treat a one year old scar. I had a patch test 3 weeks ago and everything went well. Today when I went in for my treatment, my arm became very hot and red (not just the initial rubber band snapping sensation). It has now been one hour since my treatment and I've developed red blocks or stripes on the treatment site. Is this normal? My clinician simply told me to put aloe vera gel and ice on it and stay out of the sun.
I had IPL on my arms and hands and am 7 days post tx. I still have quite a bit of coffee grounds, seems like it is taking a while for them to clear. Previously I have undergone 1 IPL tx on my face and 2 on my chest, the coffee grounds from these cleared in 5 to 6 days. I read that areas that are more vascular clear faster since the skin cells shed more quickly. Is this correct? If so, what is the average time for IPL recovery on the arms?
I did IPL on my face. I had a few hairs on my sideburns but did half face. I now have a full on beard due to stimulated hair growth. I then went to SKIN at harley street &had 13 lazer sessions, the beard did not go. I then went to another clinic that uses the ALEX machine and have had 2years of lazer on my face&body. Though finer on my face, the hair has only come back THICKER on my arms! I apparently do not have a hormone imbalance as tests suggest. PLEASE someone tell me what the problem is!
