about 20 years of thumb sucking and relapse after being unable to stop after braces when I was younger has lead me to this. I've completely stopped the habit but I'm terrified as all hell that this open bite is going to get worse even though I've stopped. Is this something only surgery can fix? Will it get worse if I don't treat it? and if I must, would braces or invisalign possibly be able to do it?
I'm 34 years old and when I was a kid I use to suck my thumb a lot which caused my open bite. Im wondering if I qualify for invisalign. I've heard that open bites are very difficult to fix with invisalign but I really don't wanna wear the traditional braces at my age.
I have been sucking my thumb usually when I go to sleep. Ir relaxes me, but I am ready to stop. I want my teeth to become straighter and I am very self conscious with my two front teeth facing inward eachother.
I am 22 years old and have always sucked my thumb. My teeth are relatively straight and my overbites not too bad but as a result of thumbsucking my canines point inwards and make me look like a vampire! My dentist told me that Invisalign would probably work for my case but i've read some reviews saying its not possible for people who have sucked there thumb. I really want to stop sucking my thumb but I need to know if its too late and the damage is already done !
How severe is my open bite? How much would braces or invisline cost to fix this problem? If I am trying to break a 19 year+ thumb-sucking habit should I wait for the braces/invisline?
