I received 3 root canals on my upper teeth 7,8,9 after fracturing my teeth when I was younger. I placed crowns on teeth 7-10 which exaggerated my flared teeth. I am considering Invisalign to retract my lower and upper teeth. Is Invisalign safe for root canal treated crowned teeth?
My aligners just came in for my Invisalign treatment and I also just developed a tooth infection in a lower back molar that will require a root canal ASAP, before I was even able to start Invisalign. What can I expect now? Will I have to get new aligners? How expensive should I expect adjustments to be? Do I have other options?
1) I wear my retainer at night (Invisalign). I just had a root canal and am going to get a crown next week. Will my retainer still fit? 2) is the filling done during root canal and week before the crown permanent or temporary? Dentist said piece of file broke off and is in the filling. Should I be concerned? Thank you,
I have a top front tooth that has been calcified for almost 20 years due to getting hit with a basketball. I have never had any problems with this tooth other than discoloration and my dentists have never mentioned needing a root canal. If I proceed with invisalign am I increasing the risk of needing a root canal on this tooth or worse - possibly losing this tooth? Thank you.
The tooth is same colour as the rest of the teeth, but doesn't react to cold test... It is one of the most dislocated ones, therefore will need to be moved to fit into it's place nicely. It is a front tooth too, therefore I want to avoid root canal treatment if possible. Please advise if dead teeth when moved always get infected, discoloured or cause any other problems? Should I just leave it and see how it goes with Invisalign, or you recommend treatment prior straightening?
I had a pretty bad fall and have broken my front tooth in half leaving the nerve exposed. I had the nerve covered at a dentist but the covering has come undone & I will need to have it done again. I want to ask what my options are to restore this tooth. I was told that if the nerve survives I could have the tooth filled in with composite resin. But if the nerve dies then I will need to have a root canal and a crown fitted. I want treatment asap & I would still want to wear my invisalign after.
Hi, I recently (yesterday) got my clear correct aligners (Invisalign) and I have a cemented crown as my front tooth which I had put in place after a root canal about 6 years ago. I have my aligners in place and the only tooth that hurts me right now is my capped tooth. It's very sore and sensitive and I'm only worried that by me removing and putting the aligners in everyday, it'll eventually make the cap come off. Is that possible? What is the likely hood? I'm worried.
6 months ago my Dentist suggested I had a cavity that needed to be removed but could possibly lead to a root canal. I was in no pain so I decided to wait. A few weeks ago, I went to a different Dental office for Invisalign. I am now on my 2nd week of tray 1 but in pain (occasionally). I am on tray 1 out of 34 :/ If I wait a whole year would I cause more damage? Would I mess up the aligners and/or Invisalign procedure if I get my root canal?
About five years ago my upper front tooth was partially knocked out and i recieved a root canal. The tooth is still slightly loose but no signs of root resorption. There are some gaps in these front teeth i would like to fix with invisalign. Do i run a risk of root resorption by moving this tooth around?
