I had a head surgery 3 days ago and the doctor shaved a bit of my hair before making an icision on scalp and operating. He stitched the incision back up. My question is will my hair regrow around the scar? I am aware that they wont grow from the scar but will they grow back in the area around the scar which the doctor shaved. Thank you for any help.
I fell and had to get stitches( 4) about a month ago ...the scar is there which I'm not bothered about but the hair around it hasn't grown back so I've a bald patch (if I shave it ) I have left my hair grow since so the extra long hair is covering the patch but I normally have a shaved head so this is bothering me ...I read some where that it could take up to 6 months to grow back properly...is this correct? I was thinking of getting hair transplant if it doesn't grow back as I'm really paranoid about it
Two weeks ago had FUT with 1508 grafts. Unfortunately, I live 300 miles from where I had the surgery and follow up is difficult. I removed the stitches on the 10th day but the scar is still very tender and the surrounding hair/skin is painful. The pain is similar to the feeling you would have after wearing a beanie or a hat all day where the follicles hurt. This pain is occurring all over the back of my head. I have contacted the doctor and was told pain will get better. Is this normal?
I am 45 with NW3v male pattern baldness, mainly in the hairline and diffusely thinned across the top. As I have been microneedling with 1.5-2mm depth with no shedding, could it be a predictor that my scalp is more 'used to it' and less likely to experience shock loss? I am terrified of the idea of having a strip cut out of the donor area then stitching it back together. Is there anything that I need to prepare myself for other than the severe pain afterwards?
I had FUT about six weeks ago, and my external stitches were cut but the surgeon also used dissolvable stitches. I was told all of the stitches would come out within 3-4 weeks. I think they're all out. The issue is, when I touch my scar, I feel like there is a bump across it, like the scar is protruding, through the entire scar. Is this normal? I travelled to see my doctor so I've talked to him via email, he feels it could be folliculitis/pimples and I should add antibiotics.
Years ago I had nevus sebaceous removal, to be to remove the mark and give me less of a bald spot...well it's completely smooth-feeling now and almost flat to the scalp, but I have a bigger bald area. It's very close to my hair line and it shows easily and makes me really self conscious. I've been told I could try the same method of cutting out skin and stitching it closed again but since that made the bald area bigger last time I'm scared. Could I possibly do hair transplant through the scar?
I got 4 stitches in my chin after a bike accident, that was about 2 weeks ago, now that the stitches are removed I can see the skin but I can't see hair growing back. So how long it will take to know whether there will be hair regrowth or it'll remain permenet bald. Also hair transplant on scar tissue in possible or not and when should I consider a hair transplant, should I do it after 1 or 2 months or should I wait?
12 days ago I had a FUT hair transplant. Since the Dr. is not in the same state as me they used dissolvable stitches. They did recommend if I had a nurse or Dr. friend nearby to remove them after 10 days for a better healing scar line. My wife is an RN, but said they look difficult to remove. How important is removing them quicker to a better scar line? Can they be dissolved quicker? Should I make a Dr. appointment with a regular GP and ask to have them removed?
