About once a year, I get a flare up of yeast in my nipples. A cream takes care of it in a few days. I had breast fat injections in December and I had no problem at that time. I have had a flare up recently and I have a breast lift (vertical scar, possibly a small anchor incision on one side) and areolar reduction scheduled in 5 weeks. I'm currently using a cream and I am scheduled to see a dermatologist next week and I plan to ask for guidance and request some oral Diflucan just to take care of things. The yeast is always going to be there, that is just how my composition is. But the details of the first few weeks post-op make me fear I may have a flare up.I normally try to keep my breasts dry, change to a clean bra every day, shower right away after exercising, regularly use fresh towels, try to limit the sugary stuff, etc., and during a flare up I do stuff like dry my breasts with paper towels and blow dry them on cool rather than touch them with a towel. But with the breast lift I will have some stuff on my breasts for a few weeks, right? And won't I have to keep the surgical bra on and not shower for a few days? I am so paranoid that I am going to get a yeast infection at that time and have a flare up and it will cause problems with healing and be a nightmare. The anti-biotics are a risk, too. I had no problem with them in December and I took them for an ear infection in the fall with no flare up. But I'm just worried.Has anyone else dealt with this? Any advice? I wonder if I should take oral Diflucan right after surgery. I know I'll be eating lots of natural plain yoghurt and taking probiotics. What else should I do?
