Breast Reduction: Forum

Over a year in the making (Hi, I'm new!)

By boobsbegone on 15 Feb 2013

After over a year of battling with Regence Blue Shield (2 appeals), 3 months of physical therapy, 6 months of massage therapy, 3 months of chiropractic care, stupid "special" bras, and well over 15 years of pain I am finally getting my breast reduction. No thanks to Regence, though. My husbands company switch providers and our new provider, Premera, approved my request within 7 days. No hassle, whatsoever. :) I'm scheduled to go from an "I" cup to a "C" or "D" cup April 12th! I'm on top of the world right now!    Any advice is greatly appreciated! By the way, my name is Meagan and I'm addicted to fighting for my rights! ;)

Glad you fought...and switched insurances. It's definately worth the fight. When my PCP suggested the surgery, I was unsure but thought I'd see how it goes. When it got approved without " jumping through hoops, I thought it was a miracle, and I'd better do it while I'm being given the chance to do it for free. The more I anticipated it, the more I realized how badly I wanted/needed it, and that I would have fought for it too, though I had originally decided not to " jump through hoops" or fight when PCP first offered to start the referral process. Congrats to you! May the rest of your journey be smooth sailing:):):)
