I was having lunch with a friend in an upscale restaurant. Trying to be discreet, I ducked under the table a bit to take my aligners out. Wouldn't you know, the server came to take our order. My friend explained I dropped something and the server said she would come back a little later. For whatever reason, it was taking forever to get my liners out. Imagine my shock when the server returned, got down on her knees, poked her head under the tablecloth and said, "can I help you find it?" Face to face, my liners popped loose and protruded from my lips. She quickly jumped to her feet and we had a different server the remainder of the meal.

The worst thing for me was always getting canker sores on the lower right side of my cheek. The attachment that I had on scraped along side my cheek that a canker sore would come every once in a while.

That awkward moment when the Eucharist gets stuck in your invisalign braces and your fingering your mouth for thirty minutes in mass to get it out. People were staring and laughing like nuts. I was so embarrassed.

On the bright side you may have a solid argument for needing more wine than the rest, you know to prevent this from happening again. I mean, its a medical condition, right?! ;)

My husband and i talk about growing old together. He started graying around the edges and i would say " awe we're growing old together". Something we laugh about now is one night we are getting romantic and we start to kiss. I stop and say just a minute let me take out my teeth. After We both finally stopped laughing, I said "awe we're growing old together."

I've considered getting Invisalign, but am afraid of the lisp? Wondering how big of an issue this really is....

Everyone is different. You may have a lisp that lasts a couple of weeks or just a few hours. Its usually only with your very first aligner set. In my case I had trouble pronouncing a few letters and sounds for the first day I received mine after that I could speak normally. You should be fine. Good luck!
