Wondering if my tummy is "bad" enough for a full tuck....?

I am scheduled for a full tummy tuck and breast augmentation on May 26. I have contemplated having this done for over a year. I lost about 35 pounds and have worked out regularly. I had two c-sections, and have the "pooch" that comes with that. I have excess skin, but not a whole lot. My boyfriend says I don't need it. I just want to be able to wear slim fitting clothing without the belly "pooch". Since scheduling surgery, I am second guessing myself. Wondering if I should spend all this money, and now I have been reading about the long recovery process. I had no problems recovering from my c-sections, and I guess I was thinking the tummy tuck recovery would be similar. It sounds like it is going to be much worse. I am for some reason worried about the "loss of belly button". I saw a picture on this site...and it is awful!! How often does that happen, does anyone know? I guess it is natural to second guess, and worry. Especially since most people say there is nothing wrong with my tummy. I will try to post a picture so you can see.

I've heard that tummy tuck recovery can be worse than a c-section recovery, but I've also read the opposite. I think everyone is different in this respect. It's hard to see your upper abs in the photo, but generally the mini tummy tuck just takes care of muscles, skin and fat below your belly button. A full TT works on the skin, etc. above your belly button as well. You might want to check out our mini tummy tuck community for more info on that. Hope this helps!

It looks like you have abdominal separation. Once they're pulled back together, you'd have excess skin. You might be like me and not have enough excess skin to pull your existing belly button down to the horizontal incision and therefore, would have a small vertical scar as well. Did your PS mention that?
