weight loss.cosmetic surgery in Mexico

Several have posted their fears about having weight loss or cosmetic surgery in Mexico.  I would like to dispell those fears since I both types of surgery there and couldn't be happier with the results.  I had wonderful experienced surgeons (Dr. Sergio Garcia for cosmetic/plastic and Dr. Jaime Ponce de Leon for the "sleeve" weight loss surgery).  The care these healthcare professionals and their team showed me was bettethan any I have received in the U.S., plus the price is about half the cost. Recovery is at the beautiful Grace Guesthouse -- operated by an American -- overlooking the Pacific Ocean.   I'd like to know of anyone who would like to share similar experiences.

There seems to be a lot of people going to Mexico these days for surgery of all kinds. I still have my reservations, but that's personal to me. A lot of people are very happy with their outcomes and treatment.

Does the sleeve need a lot of follow-up appts? I'm just wondering how you handle that with a long-distance doctor.

no need for follow-ups... just follow the special post-surgery nutritional plan the doctors give you. Great way to loose weight if trying to decide on a procedure.

Many sleeve patients choose to go to doctors in their local community after they arrive back from overseas surgery Usually they tell their pcp before going to get surgery and sometimes they are in agreement with it and sometimes they are not. Some people have reported having to switch doctors when they got home to one that is in agreement. Some people have very supportive doctors who help them. All you really need is blood tests to monitor vitamin levels and perhaps just common checks on the laparoscropy sites. I go get my vitamin levels and labs done locally. I follow the post op diet that I got online for the surgery.
