By helenes transformation on 09 Jun 2011

Scheduled for July 6th! 8 weeks later I am going to the beach, should I expect to still be crazy swollen?

Don't stress yourself about the swelling.  It will be what it will and you can't change it or stop it.

I say just go to the beach relax and enjoy it.  If you do have a little swelling oh well...it will pass so just enjoy your vacation.

Having some swelling beats having a tummy that hangs:)

I wouldn't say crazy swollen, but still swelling everyday, yes. I am 7 weeks out and I still swell everyday, by night time I am swollen pretty good. I have gone swimming a few times and I just wear a tankini and it looks cute! Good luck with your surgery and who knows you may be one of the lucky ones that doesn't swell too terribly bad.

I am a few days short of 8 weeks post op and I do experience swelling later in the day, however it is minimal at this point and is more noticable in how I feel then how I look if that makes sense... There is no reason why you shouldnt be able to go to the beach... I have been;)

You will be swollen! Expect to swell for months afterwards. It is very normal - I am not trying to scare you - it is a very normal part of recovery - not your final result. The heat also makes it worse.

Everyone is different & you may be fine, especially since you are going to the beach in September, when it is not as hot. I am 9 weeks post op & still swell, but, I notice it was at its worse 7 weeks post op & also in extreme heat. Mine seems not nearly as bad at 9 weeks post op, but I still swell. Good luck to you!
