7 Weeks PO - Running and VERY Winded - Any Advice?

By Joy40 on 20 May 2012

Had no idea that returning to running would be this hard ... i have unders ... I am guessing its the tightness that the muscles still need to adjust for? Anyone have any idea ... experience with this ... how long it takes to get lung capacity back?? Anything i can do to help myself?

Ok ladies, 11 days later... Running getting better but still hard. I feel less angry while running ... it's been like a fight to finish, but today it started to feel better. Still slow but less of a grind ... So thought a progress update might be interesting to anyone wondering about how it takes to get back to normal.

How are things going for you now? I am about a week post op (300cc silicone under plus lift) and am counting down the weeks until I can run again. Has your breathing gotten any easier?

Hi Mega, I am officially a year out since my surgery but it did take me a full month to get back to good.

I figure a month to 6 weeks. I have been taking slow, 3 mile walks during my second week post op. Each day I feel better, but I am no where near ready to run. I don't really see how I will be able to start until they drop.

Oh... Let me be more clear, sorry, my bad, I was cleared at 6 weeks and from there it took me a month after I started running. I went to hot yoga to help with gently stretching ... Which was great. Good luck!

Ah, I see. That sounds reasonable. Based on how I am feeling now, I don't anticipate running for another 6-8 weeks. But I can't wait!

Hey there - no breathing exercises ...I'll see if can find the video, i have been back at yoga these past 2 days hoping the breathing and stretching in the heat is will help.

So i bought sports bra from Lululemon the tata tamer, hilarious name and from Athleta the Va Va both are amazing ... my ladies are not moving at all. Altheta was not near as much as Lululemon as just as good. They both have also been great while jumping rope ... so they are passng the test ... it just my lung capacity that's not :-)

I love lulu lemon, I have so many workout tanks from my a cup days and am SO happy (and shocked) they still fit. I've heard the tata tamer is great, I had a Victoria's secret gift card so im trying the vsx front zip when I can work out again. What size did you get again?

34C .. I know, I was so sad getting rid of all my old lulu bras they were so pretty. But loved buying my new ones :) Lulu is awesome, bras are great and no other pants make your butt look quite as hot as Lulu pants and now with the new ladies ... Woo hoo!

hey, just passing by :). I would like to buy the Tatatamer online but not sure if it fits on the small or comfy side. Did you buy your usual bra size? Thanks, C
Joy40 16 Mar 2013
Yes I did. The fit gives a lot of support but also boosts / pushes them up. If u don't like that fit go with the vava at Athleta it's also an awesome bra.
Curomi 16 Mar 2013
hey, thanks , i will look for that one too. To be honest with you , i was thinking about using it as an every day bra. That is why i thought i maybe did need a slight "larger" one. But at this point, i will buy my usual size .. :)))))))) c

Well it will position them front and center with lift. When I put a t shirt on over it I'm still like "hello ladies" :) lulu is typically good with returns if it turns out u don't like it. Good luck.

thanks Joy :))))))))))) ; i just always seem to order the wrong size and i am a bit bored at sending staff back lately, ahahaha, , thank youuuu C

Did your dr have you do breathing exercises? I have this air lung thingy I breathe into, I'm supposed to for 5 minutes each hour I am awake to increase my lung capacity but I usually only do it 3 times a day. My dr did warn me that I would be breathing shallow but I'm only a week out and no where close to ready to work out...McKenzie had a video posted after her first workout that I found helpful. Keep us posted...did they move a lot when you ran? I am anxious about working out again but really missing the gym.
